Concealing Colouration
Concealing Colouration is when animals blend in with their surroundings to stay safe from danger and catch their food.
Disruptive Colouration
dark or light spots or stripes on their skin to help them hide and stay safe from other animals that might want to eat them.
Disguise
when something changes the way it looks to match its surroundings. It does this by changing its color, texture, and shape so that it can blend in and be harder to spot.
Mimicry
when animals pretend to be like other animals so that they can trick their enemies and stay safe. They can do this by looking like them, acting like them, making the same sounds as them, or even smelling like them.

What is aposematism?
Aposematism is when an animal looks a certain way to let other animals know that it can hurt them or that they are toxic.
Camouflage is when plants and animals use their colours or patterns to hide and match their surroundings. This helps them stay safe from other animals that might want to eat them, and also helps them sneak up on animals they want to catch food.
