-Body has an impaired ability to deliver glucose into the cells (to be used for energy)
3 types of Diabetes include: Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational induced Diabetes
-A state in which the blood glucose level is above normal
-Can also lead to: Ketoacidosis in type 1 diabetes
-Can lead to HHNS in type 2 diabetes
-An acute emergency in which a PT's blood glucose level drops and needs to be corrected swiftly
