The Boers: Dutch people who settled in Cape Town, Africa, and eventually migrated island.

Cape Town: A Seaport city and legislative capital of South Africa; first Dutch colony in Africa.

Affonso I: The ruler of Kongo in west-central Africa, who was against the Slave Trade.

Missionaries: People sent to do religious work in a terrirory or foreign country.

Plantation: Large estate run by an owner or overseer and worked by laborers who lived there.

Mombasa: A city in southeastern Kenya, located ona small coastal island.
