GLOBAL WARMING - Coggle Diagram
GLOBAL WARMING
Is the rising average temperature of the planet
CLIMATE CHANGE
Global warming produces shifts in the climate patterns and that causes the climate change
CONSEQUENCES
Water & food resources
Sea levels rising
Shrinking ice sheets
Ocean acidification
Safety & economic challenges
Health problems
Heat-related illness, injuries and fatalities from severe weather, asthma & cardiovascular disease from air pollution, respiratory problems from increased allergens, diseases from poor water quality, and water & food supply insecurities.
Extreme weather
Stronger storms & hurricanes, heatwaves, wildfires, flooding & heavier droughts.
Negative impact in ecosysytems
Animals, for example, are forced to look for a new habitat but climate change effects go so fast, that not every species can get adapted quickly enough.
CAUSES
Livestock
Deforestation
Agriculture
Burning fossil fuels
Greenhouse gases
The Sun hits the planet, some energy is absorbed at the surface of the Earth BUT the rest of that energy is reflected by the surface. When it gets to the atmosphere, the greenhouse gases trap the reflected energy and redirect it back down to the Earth and eventually contributing to global warming.
SOLUTIONS
Recycle
Invest in renewable energy
Reduce emissions
