The Cell
Cell Organelles
The larges organelle is the nucleus, it is just like the brain but in the cell. It guides, helps, and commands the cell to do what they are supposed to do for us to survive.
DNA are in something called a chromosomes, a normal human should have 23 pairs of chromosomes.
The nucleus contains proteins and nucleolus. The nucleolus is usually seen in dark parts of the nucleus.
Proteins are made on small structures called ribosomes, unlike other cells ribosomes are not surrounded by cell membrane, instead they are in cytoplasm.
most eukaryotic cells contain hundreds of organelles called mitochondria. like a nucleus mitochondrion is surrounded by two membranes. Energy is released during chemical reactions that occur in the mitochondria.
Chloroplasts are membrane_bound organelles that use light energy and make food- a sugar called glucose0from water and carbon dioxide in a process known as photosynthesis.
Cell Shape and movement
The cell is small and disk shaped, so that it could pass through the smallest blood vessels.
-
Cell membrane are the protective wall that protects the insides of the cell, this is for animals.
Cell walls are the protective walls that protects the inside of the cell, its the same as membrane but this is for plants.
-
Cytoplasm is a liquid in the cell that contains salts and other molecules.
Cytoskeleton is network of proteins gathered together.
Cell Types
Cells have 2 types
The first one is prokaryotic cell is the cell that only bacteria and archaea or organisms with Unicellular (only has 1 cell)
-
The second one is Eukaryotic which all animals, humans and fungi have, all the organisms that have Eukaryotic cells have multicellular (2 or more cells)
