Due to the terrible working conditions, many employees began to demand their rights.
Unions were formed because workers finally wanted to end long working hours for little pay. They demanded more wages and fairer treatment. They didn't want children working in factories because of the danger involved
more immigrants arrived in the United States, more workers became available. These workers were willing to work, even if others were not due to unfair treatment.
This meant that the effect of unions was not efficient, since companies did not have a shortage of workers. This is why most unions have not been successful.

The proximity and unsanitary conditions in the slums facilitated the rapid spread of disease, and the absence of access to medicines and adequate medical care resulted in a high mortality rate.
The majority of the population in industrialized areas continued to live in appalling conditions due to lack of financial resources and overpopulation, maintaining pressure on quality of life.
The rapid increase in population due to migration has worsened overcrowding, making apartments even more cramped and precarious.
Migration in search of jobs has resulted in fierce competition for job opportunities, making the search for a livelihood challenging and competitive.
