The various content in the fast foods make them more addicting as they taste makes people want more. For example the high amounts of salt present create senses of hunger even if the individual is already full, causing them to eat more than they accepted.
Marketing
Marketing in-store and out causes consumers to want to eat the food because such advertisements make the food look very good and delicious
Economics
fast foods are much cheaper, and more convenient to buy as it takes less time to get it and then compared to making your own meals.

Fast food is typically packed with calories, sodium, and unhealthy fat which is often enough in one meal for an entire day. It also tends to be low in nutrients and almost totally lacking in essentials like fruits, vegetables and fibres.
Social Media
social media has many influences from the brands themselves but also from influencers and celebrities. Many people look at such influencer and ultimately change their own diets depending of the food marketing they are presented with to fit into society norms
Who does this affect?
Many people aged anywhere from thir teens and specifically people aged 20-30s are most commonly eating fast foods like macdonalds
Health issues can start at a very young age, for example, children who eat junk food refualrly are very susceptible to get obese.
Some children who eat junk food are at risk of developing depression even without obesity. Depression in turn affects growth and development parameters, academic performance, and social relationships. It also results in a higher risk of suicide.
Why eat it if its so "Dangerous"?
fast foods release neurotransmitters such as dopamine and oxytocin, which induce relaxation, pleasure and enjoyment. Many people call fast foods their "comfort food" as it actually makes us feel better.
Fast food also causes binge eating
Fast food tends to be much more soft than other foods, this makes it easier to break down the food in the mouth, and therefore does not require that much chewing, activates the reward centers in the brain rapidly.
It is very convenient the time that it takes to be made is very little. Comparing to homemade foods it takes less than half the time and also tends to be cheaper.
fast food has become more customizable to satisfy personal needs for everyone. This makes fast foods muc more desirable to the public as you get to specifically choose what you want and get it ready in little to no time.
