- - - - My pursuit of a Ph.D. degree is motivated by multiple factors. I see a Ph.D. as not just a potential future endeavor but as a prestigious achievement in itself. My interests lie primarily in the fields of AI, networking, and software engineering, as I firmly believe that these domains will drive future human societal productivity. Throughout my undergraduate and master's degree programs, I typically followed instructions and guidance from professors. However, I believe that the ability to formulate my own questions and take independent actions will be crucial in both my future career and research. It is this perspective that drives me.
      - I have a genuine passion for solving real-world problems, which has consistently led me to engage in relevant research projects. Nevertheless, I am eager to delve deeper into complex issues, an opportunity that a Ph.D. program can provide. Ph.D. research is not merely about acquiring knowledge and skills but is also a process of independently formulating questions and conducting in-depth investigations. I believe that through a Ph.D. degree, I will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions and address current and future challenges.
      - In summary, my decision to pursue a Ph.D. degree is well-considered, based on my strong interest in the research field, my drive for autonomy and problem-solving, and my accumulated research experience. I am confident that a Ph.D. will enable me to contribute effectively to society, and SUTD is the ideal place for me to pursue this goal.
