2-3 Reading Comprehension Coggle

Passive transport

Passive transport is when something moves through a cell's membrane with out the cell using any energy.

Oxygen can pass through the cell membrane without using the cell's energy.

Diffusion

Defusion is the movement from a lower populated area to a higher populated area. ↻ switch

This can continue through the membrane.

Osmosis, the diffusion of water

The water goes through a membrane.

A cell membrane can transport protiens.

Active transport

Passive transport is from higher concentration to lower concentration.

this is how cells take in needed nutrients.

Endocytosis and exocytosis

Endocytosis is how a cell takes in something by surrounding it by the cell membrane.

Exocytosis is when a cell releases something outside of the cell.

cell size and transport

the area around a cell membrane depends on the membrane's mass.

A cell's membrane could be too small.

otherwise it would be too weak.
