Dystopia is the opposite of utopia: a state in which the conditions of human life are as terrible as deprivation oppression or terror (or all three). A dystopian society is characterized by human misery in the form of squalor, oppression, disease, overcrowding, environmental destruction, or war.
Dystopian books offer readers a dark look into the downfall of society via scenarios such as civil war, climate change, disease, or a nuclear attack.
Ray Bradbury - Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit 451 during the Second Red Scare and the McCarthy era, which was inspired by the book burnings in Nazi Germany and by ideological repression in the Soviet Union.
The book farehnite 451 was banned/censored many times in the us because it had themes from the nazi's Germany burning books.
