In each case, something sparked the flame to start the relationship, something that caused them to love each other. They both had valid reasonings behind the beginning of their relationships.
Neither relationship started off with a mutual liking of each other, but instead an out-of-the-ordinary moment that caused them to fall for each other then. There is usually no romantic tension between the characters, but at the beginning of each relationship you can pinpoint an extraordinary moment that was what caused it to begin. Since neither one started naturally, it is safe to assume that they are still both equally possible to happen.
