Particles + energy and forces
Particles and density
density= mass/volume
energy and changes of state
energy calculations
work done= force x distance moved in the direction of the force
gas temperature and pressure
gas pressure and volume
Bending and stretching
More than one force is needed to distort an object.
elastic distortion= you can stretch or compress something and it will return back to its original shape.
inelastic distortion= you can stretch or compress something and it will not return back to its original shape.
when a force is applied to each end of a spring/ rubber band it will extend.
Extension and energy transfers
work has to be done to stretch the spring
pressure in fluids
pressure = force/ area
the pressure increases the further down you go in water
as an objects sinks in the water the upthrust crated by the pressure in the water will eventualy overpower the down force if given enough distance to do it.
pressure and upthrust
pressure = force/ area
