In the nineteenth century, women didn't have a national political place into the society, the couldn't stand has candidates for parliament, and neither allowed to vote. women had the exclusive task of taking care of the house and raising children.
In 1918, many of the MPs who had opposed votes for women had been replaced by younger men who supported it and things started to change.
