IN 1903 SHE DECIDED TO BREAK WITH THEM AND FOUND A SEPARATE SOCIETY.
(WSPU) WOMEN'S SOCIAL AND POLITICAL UNION.
EMMELINE PANKHURST
She studied in Paris and at the age of 20, she
married Dr Richard Pankhurst.
Dr Pankhurst was a socialist and supporter of radical causes, including women's rights.

EMILY DAVIDSON
On 4 June 1913, the famous Derby horse race
took place at the Epsom Racecourse.
During the race a suffragette named Emily Davidson passed under the rails and rushed onto the racecourse to draw attention to the women's protests.
She ran straight into the track of the king's horse and died.
In 1914, when war broke out, Emmelin Pankhurst called on women to support the war.
