The major source of all life on Earth comes from the Sun. Photosynthesis: Process that converts light energy to chemical energy.
During C3 photosynthesis, RuBisCo is the enzyme used to catalyze this reaction with carbon dioxide. RuBisCo is located in the bundle sheath cells.

Chlorophyll absorbs mostly red and blue but reflects green light. Plants only absorb about 5% of light.
-
Two Types
Aerobic: Process by which organic compounds are broken down to produce ATP energy in the PRESENCE of oxygen (O2)
-
-
-
-
-
Anaerobic: The oxidation of organic or inorganic substrates for ATP synthesis by oxidative phosphorylation; fermentation
Produces: Ethanol, CO2, ATP, and NAD+
