The Boston Bruins traditional colors of black and gold were not used in the team's first logo; instead, the Bruins' primary color was brown. The 1924–25 season saw the team's first appearance of the BRUINS logo, which featured a brown bear beneath BOSTON written below in brown on a yellow rectangle.
When the bruins created their first logo they thought that having a brown bruin (bear) on the face of the logo would be a great idea but they then realized it wasn't a good main logo because it didn't represent the city, they then switched to the spoked B.

This is the first appearance of their block 'B', they replaced the brown bear which had been used in various forms since their expansion season. This logo was simply a block 'B' in brown with alternating gold and brown outlines. In this logo they kept the same colors as the previous logo but majorly alerted the design
Bruins decided to switch to this to put the main focus on the spoked B, doing so they it was a popular decision as it was meant to represent the city as a whole.

The "spoked B" logo, First introduced as an anniversary logo a year prior, the team made some adjustments to it and made it their primary logo for the 1949-50 season. The logo shows a "B" in black trimmed in gold inside a black circle with eight gold spokes surrounding it. This is still now there current design.
The bruins then added the 8 yellow spokes surrounding the new black spoked B with an idea to add more detail while making the logo fit better for the jersey

The Boston Bruins updated their logo and colors as they left the renowned Boston Garden. The logo now has a black border around its spokes and an additional gold outline around its perimeter. Throughout, the color of gold was also made darker.
Boston decided to add much more black and to make the yellow look like gold more, they did this so they could match home jerseys better.

The bruins decided to change the logo to implement more black and also darken the gold. They did this so they could make the logo pop more.
