Releases a toxin that causes Cl- ions to enter your large intestine lumen and water to flow into the lumen from the gut lining via osmosis

This will then cause severe diarrhoea and you can die from dehydration and lack of electrolytes

Lots of money needs to be spent on overhauling sewage system

In modern society poor people are more at risk

Carers are scared that they will be exposed to the disease

Oral/intravenous rehydration therapy

Antibiotics

Transmissible

Any disease that can be passed from person to person

Transmissible = HIV

Non-Transmissible = Cancer

Treatment

The best treatment is preventative measures such as malaria vaccine (but this doesn’t last long), or malaria pills

There is a treatment if you get malaria but it is slow and ineffective
