John Striders management team hired some people with experience and talent to spearhead the program; however the team was new to the PC business and AtekPC.
Problems?
The hired professionals did not know of the culture at AtekPC and if the PMO was found to be fighting against the culture, it will without a doubt fail.
Solution?
Strider could have some of the management that is already familiar with AtekPC's culture business and practices and have them work alongside them to help ensure that the work gets done while causing the least amount of harm to the company's culture
Strider thought he understood what the PMO could do for AtekPC, but the initiative was still in its infancy and needed time to see the real changes
Solution?
He could compare the similar comparison with the other tech companies that have undergone a similar process and see how it has affected their culture and profitability margins
Strider had concerns about what might happen with if they push too hard with the idea, rather than helping it could potentally cause more issues
Solution?
Creating a pros and cons list to determine if continuing the idea would create more harm for the company or help; then presenting the idea to Richard Steinberg (Director Application Development) and Director of Technology and Operations for a second/third opinion
