Concept
As my story takes place on an island in a fisherman village. My matte painting will include a little house on water with a boat next to it, to represent the location. My protagonist, the empress, got her powers when the sun sets and the moon rises. I find it important to add those two elements in the picture and play with lights, yellow/orange and blue/ green respectively. I also will include some coconut trees in the foreground to add a more tropical look to the frame. Little details such as rusty aluminum sheets will also be added and a smaller wooden boat to add a more local atmosphere.
