HOW?
Hand Making
Hand Production is a lot slower than machine however allows for change in the production stage if an idea was unrealistic or unable to be produced as the changes couldn't be physically made whist working on the product

Hand production allows for more complex products to be made as it allows for smaller and more in depth changes to be made with the ability to use different tools and processes unlike machines
Hand Producing faces the issue of human error and with that the work would be less accurate and sloppier than if done on a machine
3D Printing
3D Printing is mostly accurate to the model provided to it with exception of the dimensions of the material used by the printer which can be fixed by filler and sand paper
3D Printing can create any idea created on external sites such as on shape which can provide suitable depth length and width of any realistic shape with the possibility of being painted and change colour after production
3D Printing requires use from external sites and possibly machines to use which can take up substantial amounts of time while also still needing to spend the time actually creating the product in the 3D Printer
3D Printing has dimensions it can create such as the size of the 3D printer being a limiting factor of the sizes and shapes you can create which may result in needing to make multiple parts of the product and causing an overall worse look
Laser Cutting
Laser Cutting does take quite a while to prepare as the stencil for the laser cutter is produced by websites such as Tec soft
Laser Cutting does not have the capability to change the depth of a material only to cut at different depths so if cutting the material used must be already prepared at the correct depth and excess width and height
Laser Cutting is extremely accurate as all cutting process is done by the machine which means the cuts are accurate due to lack of human error
Laser cutting is a very fast process as the bulk of the time taken is done on a computer to make the design for the laser cutter to cut out
Moulding
Creating the mould takes along time and if done incorrectly can be very long and costly to redo all without starting on any physical model of the product
Moulding is accurate if done correctly and can make multiple models of the product in a very similar time frame to only one
Moulding takes very little time after the mould has been created and it can be made into various shapes out o various materials if the correct forges are at disposal
Moulding can only produce full pieces without the possibility of hollow unless preforming complex moulding methods which would be costly to maintain and to preform
WHY?
Celebrate Achievements
This product also celebrates the achievements of mechanical advancements thanks to gears throughout history with it being an integral part of the products design
This product however does not attribute to any modern achievements or advancements and doesn’t recognise any specific inventors past the original creator
This product celebrates the achievements of its creator William Goodwin and his large input of the mechanical toy market with him creating the first mechanical horse and many other mechanical toys
This Celebration of William Goodwin’s invention does not appeal much to the STEM program but to Historical events rather than engineering or technological advancements and development
Encourage Participation
This product may not appeal to people who focus on the Science or Mathematics side of STEM as it mostly appeals to the more physical Engineering and Technology parts
This product will help encourage participation through showing a more physically educational side of STEM different to the studious idea that most people have of it
This product does not give any real incentive past its creation to Participate in STEM activities as the product could be bought and used without much link
This product also will help educate people on the functionality of gears and systems through its design which would encourage participation through interest in the subject
