French Revolution
The cause of the French Revolution was that people started fighting for the monarchy. Because they kept fighting they started to get social and political problems in France.
Nationalism
Liberalism-They wanted to destroy restrictions and wanted clerical privileges
Conservatism- support the rule of the catholic church and restoring the monarchy
Congress of Vienna
The goal of the Congress of Vienna meeting was after the fall of Napoleon. The meeting would talk about Europe and how they should maintain peace throughout all the other continents.
Liberalism- They did not want to elect parliaments. They wanted monarchs
Conservatism-They wanted to maintain their power, weaken nationalism, and balance power.
Revolutions of 1848
During the Revolutions of 1848, they voted against the European monarchy. It was caused because of the economic and political problems. The aim was to make an independent government but they have been unsuccessful.
Nationalism
Liberalism- They wanted to remove the monarchy and build their own government
Austrio-Prussian War
The war between Austria and the Prussians started fighting because they both wanted to take control over Schleswig-Holstein. Their rivalry was mostly caused because of political, cultural, and territorial conflicts.
Imperialism
Franco-Prussian War
The Germans were next to overpower the Spanish and they also threatened France. The result of the French and Prussian wars was that Germany got their own empire.
Nationalism
Conservatism-They wanted to create and unified empire in Germany, and more power to Bismarck
Unification of Germany 1871
The war was orchestrated by Bismarck. Bismarck wanted to make a group of alliances so he could protect Germany. There were three major events that led to the Unification of Germany. the war with Denmark, Austria, and Prussia war, and they made the Northern German Confederation
Imperialism
Liberalism- They wanted to make Germany from a Confederation into a federal liberalism constitution.
Alliances- (1872/1879/1882/1887)
It is called a Dual Alliance or the Triple Alliance which was created in 1879. Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary made an agreement and signed that they would always support and help each other when Russia attacked them.

Conservatism- They wanted to make an alliance and support each other
Bulgarian Crisis
The Bulgarian Crisis was a series of conflicts between the great powers and it also caused problems between Austria-Hungary.
Imperialism
Liberalism-Because they were trying to get individual rights and freedom
Conservatism-They wanted to balance power. And preserve their empire
Removal of Bismarck
Bismarck did not really have anyone supporting him. He was mostly just trying to fight for the Germans and make aliases with everyone so Germany would be safe. On March 18, 1890, he was told to resign.
Alliances
Conservatism-They wanted to get rid of him because he was just trying to make alliances which did not really work
