writing: The author wrote that "The Scribes had to be experts in writing hieroglyphs, an elaborate form of picture-writing with about 700 different signs meaning different things." The text also said "It was desperately kept complicated so that not to many people could master it. Hieroglyphs were used on state monuments, temples, tombs, and religious papyri."

Religion: The text said that "They worshiped hundreds of different gods and goddesses and it was difficult to work out who was who." The text also said "Many of the gods were represented by animals: a baboon might have stood for Thoth, god of wisdom, at one temple and a moon god named Khonsu at another."
