1. Definition
The person selects the information he or she receives to be kept in his mind and added to his or her perception groups
different from one person to another
Reflects the person's interest, values, abilities and experience.
The information received will be interpreted differently from one person to another.

Definition = The individual's overall attitude toward the self
High Self Esteem
More competent, likable, attractive, Morally good, and intelligent than average
Low Self Esteem
Associated with the absence of strong positive views of self.
They are lack of confidence that they can achieve goals.
Focus on self-protection- try to avoid loss of esteem
4. Identity Management
Definition: Identify management is a process in which individuals try to influence the perceptions people have about something, a person, or an event.

Face work is the determinant factor
an individual's face reflects his relational and cultural identities
