Giving expert advice on everyday issues, such as buying and selling homes and dealing with relationship breakdowns. : :check:

Protecting individuals' right, making sure they're treated fairly by public or private bodies :check:
Providing free help (pro-bono) in certain circumstances, for example for people who are unable to pay for legal services. :check:
Qualifications: 5 GCSE's grade 5 & above. Three A-levels (or equivalent) at grade A or above.
Once in University, you can study a LLB Law degree for 3yrs or 4yrs + placement yr.
Or you can study a non-law degree and then go onto to do a GDL which essentially crams all the content taught in a 3yr law degree in one yr.
Afterwards, you can progress onto doing the LPC now known as the QWE. :check:

Law Modules: Administrative/Constitutional law, public law, land law, EU law, Equity & trusts, Contract law, Tort law, Criminal law. :check:
QWE must be completed before doing your SQE. Is it to replace the training contract.
Duration- 2yrs

Interacting with clients
Seeing how solicitors work in practice
Considering ethical challenges
Developing competences set out in the Statement of Solicitor Competence. :check:
QWE can be achieved in one period or over the course of 4 stages.

Solicitors can work in: Law centres, Law firms, Local departments within organisations (in-house), Local or central government, the Crown Prosecution Services :check:

Contentious legal work- resolving disputes between two or more parties, usually in a court or tribunal. :red_cross:
Non-contentious legal work- dealing with the legal aspects of a client's business or personal matter, for example managing a company merger or making a will. :red_cross:
