What was the Cold War?
-
The cold war lasted over 50 years. The USA and the USSR were the world’s two superpowers. They were stronger, better armed and more successful than all other countries.
-
The cold war was a war of ideology – communism vs capitalism. Both sides used propaganda to criticise each other in the media. They were willing to help anyone who opposed the other side by providing aid, new technology, money and weapons.
