No and yes As a result of the American Revolution, American society was transformed into a nation based on what were considered to be radical beliefs that gave natural law supremacy over governmental authority. The Revolution helped spread several radical principles, most notably a dedication to liberty, equality, democratic government, and the rule of law. These egalitarian principles encouraged a spirit of reform, however compromised they were in reality. The lives of British citizens, African Americans, or women did not materially change as a result of the Revolutionary War, making it a "not revolutionary" conflict. Due to the fact that the government was largely well formed by the inhabitants, some people may believe the Revolutionary War was revolutionary.
