Mitosis & Meiosis
What is it?
Cell separation happens once a stem cell divides into 2 or more cells called daughter cells. Each of the cells reproduce by dividing into 2, where each parent cell gives rise to 2 daughter cells.
MItosis
Mitosis is a process in which a single cell divides into 2 identical daughter cells (cell division).
Meiosis
Meiosis is a process in which a single cell divides twice to generate 4 cells that contain half of the original portion of genetic information.
Protein Synthesis
What is it?
Protein synthesis is the process by which cells generate proteins. Transcription is the transfer of genetic standards from DNA to mRNA in the nucleus.
What is RNA?
Its primary functionality is to act as a messenger that transfers DNA standards to control protein synthesis, although in certain viruses RNA, instead of DNA, transfers genetic information.
What is DNA?
Deoxyribonucleic acid (abbreviated DNA) is the molecule that carries genetic information for the development and performance of an organism.
Sexual reproduction
What is it?
Sexual reproduction happens once the male father's sperm fertilizes an egg from the female father, producing offspring that are genetically different from the two fathers.
