Ancient Egypt
Location:The location of Egypt was mostly sand. I know this because the text says” Desert covers more than 90% of the egypt. The text also states “Called the Red Line the desert supported only small settlements in wadis and oasis”. (hart 8)
Government: The government in Ancient Egypt consisted of pharaohs ruling over all of the land in an advanced theocracy. I know because the text states "When people approached the king, they often kissed the ground at his feet." Which shows that they had the utmost respect for the pharaoh. Also, the author wrote "At great state occasions like royal jubilee celebrations or the giving of gifts to favored courtiers, the king and court gathered together, and top officials, diplomats, and high priests would attend." This shows an example of who was considered important and was involved in government.(HART 12)
Religion: In the text it said "The EGYPTIANS worshiped hundreds of different gods and goddesses,and sometimes it is difficult to work out who was who". I know because many people are named by animals like baboon that might stand for Thoth. (Hart 24)
Art:
The art of egypt was music I know this because the text says “They had great public festivals at which thousands of people were entertained with singers and music frome flutes, harps, and castanets and much wine was drink” (Hart 50)
Architecture:Government: Architecture such as I know this because the text says “ The first pyramid was built as a burial place of King Djoser in c. 2650 BCE by his gifted architect imhotep”. “In the text it said Doors of granite and false passages were pursuit of the rich offerings buried with the kings. “

Writing : In the text it says "Scribes had to be experts in writing hieroglyphs an elaborate form of picture -writing with about 700 different signs".In the text it said Hieroglyphs were used for state monuments,Temples,tombs and religious papyri.( Hart 34 )
Ancient China
Religion :The religion of ancient china was oracle bones and Confucianism. It says in the book that it is a religion that has people be kind and nice, and learn from their family. it ultimately ends up in a good thing. Oracle bones were turtle shells that people wrote on, burned it in a fire, and if there was cracks in a spot, it means there was a future of that. Page 50
Writing :on page 11 it said they use oracle bones to talk to the spirits. Mainly ox bones or tortoiseshells were used and scorched until crack. the cracks were read to discover answers about the ancestor (Cotterell)
art:Ancient China is known for the ceramics of the things they drew on, and the oracle bones they used. The manufacture of the items of decorated items was hard techniques, and they were done by the masters of art. The merchants that sold their art, and all the things that people bought were well thought of. They made a lot of tools for people, and help keep the civilization alive. They also produced some cloth, and some items for the army. (page 58)
Government :The government of Ancient China is feudalism. It is a thing where a noble owns some land, and they have peasants working on it. It is a system of government that caused a lot of turmoil. Page 22
trade and commerce:The trade was ruled over the Yuan dynasty. It started with the Silk Road, a trade commencing to parts of Europe, and parts of the Middle East. The Yuan dynasty ruled over china 1279-1368 and permitted merchants to trade through their vast empire. It made a lot of money and made life easier. (page 60)
location:The ancient chinese civilization was founded in East Asia. Starting with an Ancient Civilization, slowly expanding land. They lived along a river, which would be good for agriculture. It helps them farm crops and feed their families. They also had supplies to build houses, and keep themselves safe from disasters. It helped them survive living off a river.
Arcitecter:The inventions of ancient china include silk, and some other things that help people find out what has happened, and some other things that help people notice things like earthquakes. Page 26 and 24.
Ancient India
religion: The Aryans came from an area of Central Asia near the Caucasus Mountains, moving southeast and eventually taking over the entire Indus Valley by the year 1500 BC. They spoke a language called Sanskrit, which became the basis of many modern South Asian language.
location:The civilization developed along the Indus River alluvial in South Asia. Also over time, a vast number of settlements were built on the banks of the Indus River and surrounding areas. The Indus River Valley covers most of modern-day Pakistan, the northwestern region of modern-day India, and a small portion of Afghanistan.(world studies)
writing:In the text it says” that the writing cannot be deciphered. Over 400 symbols have been uncovered from different locations. There different then a lot of others so some scholars have wondered whether these symbols actually constituted a proper writing system.
Architecture/Technology In the text it says “The people within the Indus Valley created well-planned cities. Specifically, the people during this time cared deeply about hygiene, and their cities resembled the importance of this idea. These early cities show remnants of the world's earliest sanitation system. With the cities, people could obtain water from wells”.(world studies)
Government In the text it says "Much of what we know about them today also came from sacred writing called the Vedas. The Vedas are mostly religious texts, but they also described famous victories of the Aryans as they invaded India. The religion of the ancient Aryans, known as Brahmanism, was polytheistic and heavily influenced the later development of Hinduism. Both religions have much in common and share many rituals."(world studies)
