Asia and Europe. Although the manufacturer of decorative objects involved sophisticated techniques many were mass produced." (Cotterell 56)
Trade/commerce: I know because Trade flourished under the mongol dynasty and they controlled the entire silk road. The silk road exported goods such as silk, spices, tea, porcelain, and lacquerware. The trade routes ran from Northern china all the way across asia. (cotterell 58)
Writing: In the text it said that the Shang kings used the oracle bones to talk to their ancestors.Ox bones or tortoise shells were burnt until they cracked. People read the crack to talk to their ancestors. ( Cortell 11 )
Government: In 221 B.C The Chinese Empire was formed. The Qin soldiers defeated the last of their enemies and went under their new leader Zheng.To show his supremacy. ( Cortell 16 )

Location: On page 40 it says Cities and towns were traditionally built on a grid; they were divided into sections called wards. Each ward was surrounded by walls with gates; they locked them every evening. In general rich people and government officials lived at the other side of the town or city away from the poor people.

Religion: In the text it says " Their religious beliefs were divided into three ways of Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism. Throughout China's history they were tolerant with all three religions." ( Cortell 26 )
Architecture/Technology: The text says that Chinese buildings had been raised above the wet ground on a platform of rammed earth, brick, or stone. The heavy roofs that hung over were supported by building of wood beams which allowed for movement in an earthquake. The walls were built in a square shape, that symbolizes the 4 corners of the earth.(cotterell 41)
