Location - The text said that Deserts cover more than 90 percent of Egypt. This shows the main geographical feature of ancient Egypt. On page 8 the text says that the Egyptians lived on the bank of the Nile river. This shows how they got most of their water back in the day. Hart(8)
Religion: In the book it states " In theory the pharaoh is supposed to perform the duties of the high priest in every temple." Another example is " controlled the vast wealth in the temple treasures,," Hart (24)
The government in Ancient Egypt consisted of pharaohs ruling over all of the land in an advanced theocracy. I know because the text states "When people approached the king, they often kissed the ground at his feet." Which shows that they had the utmost respect for the pharaoh. Also, the author wrote "At great state occasions like royal jubilee celebrations or the giving of gifts to favored courtiers, the king and court gathered together, and top officials, diplomats, and high priests would attend." This shows an example of who was considered important and was involved in government. Hart(12)
Art: On page 50 it says, "The egyptians enjoyed life to the fullest. Party scenes on tomb walls, songs of papyri, and musical instruments show us how people were entertained." Their art had fun things, they danced to the music and they made their instruments. (Hart 50)
Writing: On page 34 it says, "Scribes had to be experts in writing Hieroglyphics, an elaborate form of picture-writing with about 700 different signs". For their writing they had different symbols and they drew pictures on it. (Hart 34)
Architecture-I know because on page 20 the text says "The first pyramid was built as the burial place of King Djoser." I also know because the text says " The largest Pyramid in is the Great pyramid of Giza. Hart (20)
