mesopotamia
location: in the text it said that two great rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates, flowed southward in the middle east. On page 6 it said that Mesopotamia '' extended into parts of what is now Turkey, Syria, and southwestern Iran.''( Steele 6)
government: in the text it says It was a small villages built in mesopotamia but then it grew. They traded for items like pottery or tools for the villages. (Steele 8)
art: in the text it says''As the centuries passed, hunting for food still continued in wetlands,forests, and mountains. Wild bulls or lions were often used, because they were associated with the legend of gilgamesh.'' (Steele 44)
religion: in the text it says the sumerians worshiped many gods and goddesses. They believed that the stars traveling across the night sky were the cows of Sin or Nanna, the horned moon god. (Steele 14)
Writing: In the text it says, as soon as civilizations started to rise up people started to make a language. ''They used pictures to represent cattle, grain, or fish. over the centaris the marks developed it into a script.'' (Steele 12)
architecture: in the text it says A ziggurat, ''a massive terrace platform made of brick. The Ziggurats themselves have small temples or shrines on top reached by long stairways.'' (Steele 24)

location: In the text it says, That the desert covers 90 percent of ancient egypt's land. I know this because on page 8 it says, that ancient egypt location is on the banks of the nile river. (hart 8)
government: In the text it says,That the kink was not just the most powerful but he was also the most important man in egypt. I know this because on page 10 it says, that the pharaoh was like a god.
art: On page 50 it says, "The egyptians enjoyed life to the fullest. Party scenes on tomb walls, songs of papyri, and musical instruments show us how people were entertained." Their art had fun, they danced to the music and they made their instruments. (Hart 50)
religion: in the text it says,'' The egyptians worshiped hundreds of different gods and goddesses, and sometimes it is difficult to work out who was who.''also it says'' many of the gods are represented by animals: a bamboo might stand for thoth, god of wisdom, at one temple a moon god named khonsu at another. (hart 24)
writing: they could write anyway they wanted to, left to right, right to left, top to bottom. Ancient egyptian uses a different form of writing called hieratic.( hart 34)
architecture: in the text it says, the pyramids were built in six stages called the step pyramid. I know this because it says that they made the pyramids like a gigantic stairway. (Hart 20)
Ancient china
Writing: I know because the shang kings used oracle bones to help with important events. the cracks were the answers to the questions. most of the bones were tortoiseshell or ox bones. (Cotterell 11
Art: I know this because on page 56 it says china has been renowned for its arts and craft. They traded art for bronze, jade, silk, lacquer, and porcelain. The imperial china, luxury goods formed the major export commodities.( Cotterell 56)
Location: I know this because on page 42 it says in most chinese homes, three generation of the same family lived under one roof. families followed strict codes of conduct. A traditional home was divided into different sections by courtyards. (Cotterell 42)
trade/commerce: I know this because on page 58 the silk road was under the mongols, or yuan, dynasty. In the text it says that they traded luxury goods such as silk, spices,teas,porcelain, and lacquerware. it says in the text that marco polo was an explorer and he followed the silk road. (Cotterell 58)
Architecture/technology:I know this because on page 22 it says "The first instrument for monitoring earthquakes was invented in A.D. 130".It would drop balls into the toads mouth and the earthquake was in that direction. (COTTERELL 22)
Religion: i know this because on page 26 the chinese emperor was unique upon all the civilizations. Buddhism became china's most popular belief because they wanted to change the culture. The religious beliefs were dived in three ways. (Cotterell 26)
government: The government of Ancient China is feudalism. It is a thing where a noble owns some land, and they have peasants working on it. It is a system of government that caused a lot of turmoil. (Cotterell Page 22)
