Ancient Civilization
Mesopotamia
Location: In the text it said tat 2 great rivers, the Tigris and the Euphrates, flowed southward in the Middle East. On page 6 it said that mesopotamia "extended into parts of what is now Turkey, Syria, and southwest Iran." (Steele 6
Government: An example is the Assyrian Empire was very strong. The text also states "they set out to conquer other lands. (Steele 40)
Art: In the text it said the mesopotamians mastered their technology and craft skills at an early age. It also said on page 28 that some of the techniques that they use were first developed in Anatolia.

Religion: n the text it says the Sumerians worshipped many gods. It also said on page 14 " They believed that the stars traveling across the night sky were the cows of Sin or Nanna. (Steele 14)
Writing: In the text stated :"people began to require records of ownership, business, deals, and government." It also stated that mesopotamian people, including Akkadians, Babylonians and assyrians used cuneiform.(Steele 12)
Architecture: I know because ziggurats are building with temples on top of them for the priest. The text also states "Pyramids of ancient Egypt were used for royal tombs.(Steele 24)
Ancient Egypt
Location:: The text states "Lived on the bank of the Nile." On page 8 it says Deserts cover most of the lands about 90%. (Hart 8)
Government: On page 6 it states before the rule of pharaohs everybody lived in kingdoms. Also in the text it says "cities had taken the first steps into inventing writing. (Hart 6)
Art: On page 50 it shows "Viners pressed grapes for wine while men clapped rhythm sticks together." The txt states the music was like a small orchestra. (Hart 51)
Religion: The text states that they worshiped many gods and goddesses. The text also states "Thoth god of wisdom, at one temple, and a moon god named Khonus."

Writing: The writing hey wrote was called hieroglyphs. The text says "elaborate form of picture-witting." On page 34 it says they could have been read left to right, right to left, top to bottom, or even bottom to top. (Hart 34)
Architecture: In the text it shows the temples are a great part of the architecture because they were everywhere. On page 28 it shows that they had many wealthy things in the temples like many treasures.

Ancient China
Location: I know this because The cities were enclosed urban communities and they were the middle of government and the power of the authorities were reinforced with town planning. The towns and cities were traditionally built by a grid system and split into sections called wards. Markets were mostly planted along one of the main streets. (Arthur 40)
Architecture: I know this because on page 22 it says "The first instrument for monitoring earthquakes was invented in A.D. 130".It would drop balls into the toads mouth and the earthquake was in that direction. (Arthur 22)
Trade: know this because Mongol emperors rules China and permitted merchants to to trade freely through out the empire. International trade trade grew because caravans would be able to travel without being in threat. Chinese merchants had valuable large fortunes by exporting luxury goods. (Arthur 58)
Government: In the text it says Horse drawn chariots were the form of transport. It also says Metalwork and Chinese writing were starting to be used. There were man different vessels made through each dynasty.

Religion: China's leader for religion was Confucius. He was very spiritual. The text states "Confucius to develop a new moral outlook. It was based on kindness, respect,and the strength of family." This was called Confucianism.

Writing: I know because the Shang kings used oracle bone to help with important events.The cracks were the answers to the questions. Most of them were ox bone or turtle shells. (Arthur pg 11)
Art: On page 56 it states "China has always been renowned for it's exquisite arts and crafts." China's art was very fancy. They also had a lot of detail on their pieces.

Ancient India
Architecture: In the source it tells us that that the civilizations had many "new sanitation systems" for its time. they had wells to clean out waste. they had drains down the streets so the water can flow away.

Government: The text showed "Brahmin;priests and educators" This is important because it shows which person has the highest power in the pyramid. The text also shows "Dalits: lower order of work" These are the untouchables who are the lowest on the pyramid.

Writing: The text said "One of the most confusing aspects of this ancient civilization is that the writing cannot be deciphered." The text also stated, "Over 400 symbols have been uncovered from different locations." These are important because it talks about how the writing cannot be deciphered, and they haven't 400 symbols been revealed.(Prentice Hall World Studies)
Religion: The text stated "The religion of the ancient Aryans, known as Brahmanism, was polytheistic and heavily influenced the later development of Hinduism" This shows that the religion is Hinduism. They believed in many gods also known as polytheism.

Location: In the book it states "it was around the Indus River".They lived around the river because of the fertile lands. The land also have great water sources.
