Mesopotamia
Location: in the text it said two great rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates, flowed southward in the Middle East. Also, on page 6 it said that Mesopotamia "extended into parts of what is now Turkey, Syria, and Southwestern Iran." (Steele 6)
Government: In the text it said that Babylon might have been the largest city in the world. Also, on page 30 it said that ''For centuries it remained a center of religion and trade.'' (Steele 30)
Art:In the text it said they made pot out of clay and they made pot. Also, on page 28 it said '' They invented the potter's wheel, which made pottery far more efficient." (steele 28)
Religion: In the text it said that They believed that the stars were gods and they were the cows of sin. Also, on page 14 it said '' The babylonians worshiped Enki as Ea, Inanna as Ishar, and Marduk their main god.'' ( Steele 14)
Writing:In the text it said that the symbols developed because of the materials they used for writing. Also, on page 12 it said that ''Its tip made a wedge shape when it was pressed into clay.'' (Steele 12)
Architecture: In the text it said Ziggurats are big platforms made of bricks. Also on page 12 it said " A massive terrance platform made of bricks." (Steele 24)

Ancient India
Religion: ¨The religion of the ancient Aryans, known as Brahmanism, was polytheistic and heavily influenced the later development of Hinduism. Both religions have much in common and share many rituals.¨ (World Studies)
Location: "In the 1920s, under layers of land and mounds of dirt, archaeologists discovered the remains of 4,000 year old cities, which existed at the same time as the Egyptians and Mesopotamians." Some of these cities are Harappa and Mohenjo-daro. The Indus Valley was rich in fertile soil which was ideal for agriculture. The Indus plain has high mountains, desert, and an ocean surrounding it. Writing: Ancient India's writing cannot be deciphered. Over 400 symbols have been found from different locations. Many of them are found on seals, ceramic pots, and other types of materials. (World Studies)
Architecture/Technology: These people cared a lot about hygiene so they always wanted to have the newest cleaning technology like when they got waste water to cover the drains and these all lined the main streets. (World Studies)
Government: The Aryans government was called the caste system. They are a social group that you are born into and can not change. (World Studies)
