Ancient China
Writing: In the text it said that the Shang kings used oracle bones to talk to their ancestors. An ox bone or tortoiseshell were burnt until they cracked. People read the cracks to discover answers about their ancestors. (Cotterell 11)
Government: For the last 250 years of the Chinese throne was ruled by the Manchus. The people from the North side of the Great Wall, that are not Chinese. Also, the Chinese official in Canton tried to stop the British ships from importing opium.

Location: this all took place in china, even the wars. The war of the feudal lords took place in Chang Ping China. Confucius was commonly know for being an influencer in China.

Religion: In the Shang they made ritual cauldrons to make offerings. They placed food and drinks to offer to the spirits of their ancestors. The Chinese made banquets too to send with the dead to the after life as if they were still alive.

Architecture/Technology: Chinese towns and cities were built on damp ground on platforms. The buildings were usually made of brick or stone and they had heavy over hanging roofs that were supported by wooden pillars. The chinese also had really tall walls surrounding their towns and cities.

Art: China has been known for their amazing art and crafts. China has made many bronze, gold arts and crafts like bronze weaponry and ritual vessels. They also made gold ritual or ceremonial arts.

There was a drum that wandering travelers would carry around to attract nearby traders and buyers. The drum was called a pellet-drum, and the street vendors had their own beats to advertise their wears and their whereabouts. In between 1279-1368 traded freely through the silk road.

Mesopotamia
Location:) The author wrote that the ancient Greeks called the area Mesopotamia, which mean "between the rivers" because it was located between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. Also the graphic shows that "most of ancient Mesopotamia lay within the border of modern Iraq." (Steele 6)
Art:: Steele says that the Mesopotamians had ivory imported from India to make their art. Another example of art is spindle yarn, women used these to basically knitting but with an old tool and sheep wool instead of yarn and needles.

Religion: In the text the author says that the mesopotamian people believed in many gods/goddesses. I know this because he describes some of the gods they believed in.

Government: The author says on pg 42 that they had such a big population because of the wars they ran short on supplies. This concluded in the Mesopotamians to grow a bigger empire.

Architecture:) The author says that the Greeks called the pyramid looking buildings Ziggurats. he also says they make them out of clay bricks covered with more clay.

Writing:The writing that the Mesopotamians wrote in was called cuneiform. The author also says that they used clay tablets and sticks to write their day to day resources.

Ancient Egypt
writing: The ancient egyptians used Hieroglyphics as their writing source, and contained pictures and images that represented their language. They wrote on temples and walls and would write up and down and side to side.

religion: The Egyptians believed in hundreds of god and the most popular god, Anubis. I know this because you know believing in many gods is called polytheism.

loction: Egypt is along the Nile river, and desert covered more than 90 percent of Egypt. I know this because G. Hart explains how Egyptians only live either side of the Nile River so they had a source of water because Egypt is 90% desert. (HART 8)
art: Egyptian jewelry was common back then. I know this because the author says "you can see a glint of gold everywhere in Egyptian jewelry".
architecture: Egyptian architecture was building pyramids. I know this because the author says in the text they used pyramids for their past and beloved pharaohs (Hart (HART 20)
government: The author says the king/Pharaoh was not the only powerful person in Egypt and the king/pharaoh was thought to be a living god. And the author says in the text that there rarely was a woman that ruled over Egypt (HART 10)
Ancient India
Writing: India's writing is a mystery still even today scientists don't know if it was even a form of writing. One of the most confusing things about their writing is that the letters can't be deciphered with over 400 characters. these writings have been found either on seals and ceramic pots. Architecture/Technology: The people of ancient India took consideration and precise measures before building. They cared deeply about hygiene and health and made sewer systems. And they were very advanced for the time. (History of South Asia)
Location: Ancient India was located in South Asia. Which is now where Pakistan and Bangladesh are located in the present day. It is one of the oldest and most influential civilizations.(History of South Asia)
Government: The government was ran under what is called a cast system. from the Brahmin class to the sudra class. Also, there were the untouchables which they believed brought you bad karma. (History of South Asia)
Religion: There is a way that the native Indians recorded their religion. The vedas was a sacred writing. They also performed many of the same rituals. (History of South Asia)
