Ancient Egypt
Location: The author wrote that 90% of Egypt is just desert. The desert only supported small settlements in wadis and oases. On page 8, it says" The Egyptians lives on the banks of the Nile river or beside canals extending from it."
Government: In the text it said," When people approached the king, they kissed the ground at his feet. The author states," The people of the highest status were attending the royal court." (Hart 12)
Art: Art: When it came to art in Egypt, the Egyptians expressed themselves through their majestic paintings of Egyptian gods and goddesses, but also through games. The book states, "Even as children, the ancient Egyptians enjoyed life. Some of the games they played are still loved by children today, such as 'khuzza lawizza', or leapfrog."(Hart 52) The Egyptians also created games like senet, which were perfect in developing a good sense of strategy. The Egyptians portrayed Sentel as a struggle between the forces of good and evil.
Religion:The author wrote that the Egyptians worshiped many gods and goddesses, so many it was hard to work out who. On page 24, it says" Many of the gods are represented by animals: a baboon might stand for Thoth, a god of wisdom, at one temple, and a Moon god named Khonsu at another". (Hart 24)
Writing: The author wrote that Scribes have to be experts in writing the hieroglyphs, an elaborate form of picture-writing with about 700 different symbols. On page 34, it says "It was deliberately kept complicated so that not many people can master it and the Scribes kept their special position".

Architecture: The author wrote the first great pyramid was built as a burial for King Djoser in c.2650 B.C.E, By his gifted architect Imhotep. On page 20, it says "It was supposed to represent a gigantic stairway for the king to climb to join the sun god in the sky". (Hart 20
