Ancient China
Location:The ancient chinese civilization was founded in East Asia. Starting with an Ancient Civilization, slowly expanding land. They lived along a river, which would be good for agriculture. It helps them farm crops and feed their families. They also had supplies to build houses, and keep themselves safe from disasters. It helped them survive living off a river.
Commerce/Trade:= The trade was ruled over the Yuan dynasty. It started with the Silk Road, a trade commencing to parts of Europe, and parts of the Middle East. The Yuan dynasty ruled over china 1279-1368 and permitted merchants to trade through their vast empire. It made a lot of money and made life easier. (page 60)
Government: The government of Ancient China is feudalism. It is a thing where a noble owns some land, and they have peasants working on it. It is a system of government that caused a lot of turmoil. Page 22
Architecture/Technology: The inventions of ancient china include silk, and some other things that help people find out what has happened, and some other things that help people notice things like earthquakes. Page 26 and 24.
Religion: The religion of ancient china was oracle bones and Confucianism. It says in the book that it is a religion that has people be kind and nice, and learn from their family. it ultimately ends up in a good thing. Oracle bones were turtle shells that people wrote on, burned it in a fire, and if there was cracks in a spot, it means there was a future of that. Page 50
Writing:I know because the shang kings used oracle bones to help with important events. the cracks were the answers to the question about their ancestors. Most of the bones were tortoiseshells or ox bones. (Cotterell 11)
Art:Ancient China is known for the ceramics of the things they drew on, and the oracle bones they used. The manufacture of the items of decorated items was hard techniques, and they were done by the masters of art. The merchants that sold their art, and all the things that people bought were well thought of. They made a lot of tools for people, and help keep the civilization alive. They also produced some cloth, and some items for the army. (page 58)
