Ancient Egypt
Location: The text said that '' Desert covers more than 90 percent of Egypt. Called the ''Red Land'', the desert supported only small settlements in wadis and oases.''. Another piece of evidence is '' The Egyptians lived on the banks of the Nile River or beside canals extending from it. This was ''Kemet" or the ''Black Land'', named after the rich dark silt on which farmers grew their crops''.'' (Hart 8)
Writing: In the text it said '' Scribes had to be experts in writing hieroglyphs, an elaborate form of picture - writing with about 700 different signs ''. Another piece of evidence is '' it was deliberately kept complicated so that not too many people could master it and the scribes kept their special position (Hart 34)
Art: In the text it said'' Egyptian jewelers had access to many semiprecious stones from the deserts - orange-red carnelian, green feldspar, and mauve amethyst.''. Another piece of evidence is '' They also imported stones. From mines in the Sinai peninsula came light blue turquoise and rich blue lapis lazuli to Egypt''.'' (Hart 56)
Government: The text said '' The queen of Egypt could also be seen as a goddess but was usually given the title of ''Great Royal Wife'' only rarely did woman rule Egypt in their own right''.'' Another piece of evidence is '' There was an effective system of training a prince to become a pharaoh, which included training him to become an expert sportsman and potential war leader''.'' Religion: In the text it said '' Many of the gods are represented by animals: a baboon might stand for Thoth, god of wisdom, at one temple, and a moon god named Khonsu at another.''. Another piece of evidence is ''Each 42 different administrative districts (or ''nomes'') had its own god, and there were many others beside''.'' (Hart 24)
Architecture: The text said ''It rose in six stages and is called the Step Pyramid. It was supposed to represent a gigantic stairway foe the king to climb to join the Sun god in the sky''.'' Another piece of evidence is ''The pyramids were intended to protects the bodies of the pharaohs buried deep inside them''.'' (Hart 20)
Ancient India
Writing: In the text it said 'One of the most confusing aspects of this ancient civilization is that the writing cannot be deciphered." This proves that there is not much on their writing and even if there are a lot of things with their writing they can not decipher it. (Prentice Hall World Studies
Architecture: In the text it said '' Within many homes, some rooms had facilities in which waste water was directed to cover drains and these lined the major streets.'' This shows that the people in Asia had very unique technology at the time. They also had wells that people could obtain water. Technology: In the text it said '' The advanced architecture and construction techniques of the Indus cities is also shown with impressive dockyards, granaries, warehouses, brick platforms, and protective walls''. This shows that Asia had many different architecture types. This also shows that they have many techniques. (Title: Prentice Hall World Studies)
Location: In the text it said "About 5,000 years ago, a civilization developed along the Indus River alluvial plan (floodplain), in South Asia, due to the large amount of fertile land and proximity to a water source. This shows that Asia was dependent on the Indus River. It also shows that this occurred over 5,000 years ago so this tells us that the Indus River is very old. (Title: Prentice Hall World Studies)
Government: In the text it said ''Whatever the case, the lack of decipherable texts means that we can gain no real insight into many of the details of Indus society as well as little about its government and politics." This proves that there is almost nothing about the government with us deciphering their language. (Prentice Hall World Studies
In the text it said that "The religion of the ancient Aryans, known as Brahmanism, was polytheistic and heavily influenced the later development of Hinduism."
