writing: The sumerians devised the world's first script or writing system. at first they used pictures symbols to represent objects such as cutle, grain, or fish.
Art: in the text it says,in mesopotamia they would carve symbols into stone or rock. After that they would give them to people or leave them there for people to see.
Government: In the text it said the home land assyrian people was around the tigris river, a long way north of babylon. Aslo on page 40 ashurnasirpal cavriesa mace, symbol of kingship.
religion: is where you support different gods. And are following different leaders and have different things like different jobs. And religion is polytheistic.
Architecture: Homes were rectangular , made of mud brick, and often built around central courtyard.
ancient egypt
Location: the place egyptians lived was by the nile river. most egyptians would live there cause that river has their resources like water fish for food and other things like mud to build their home.
Art: Egyptian jewelers had access to many semiprecious. egyptians jewelry had no knowledge of stone diamonds and other stuff.
writing: They could be written from left to right and right scribes had to be experts to do this type of writing.
Government: The author says, the king pharaoh was not the only powerful person in egypt and the king/pharaoh was thought to be a living god.
Religion: The Egyptians were polytheistic and worshiped
many gods and goddesses. I know this because there are records of them worshiping bast. Amun-Re, and Osiris. Hart 24
Architecture: ancient egypt had people who would build temples. One of them is called "the temple of DENDERA".
in the text it said that the ancient greeks called it mesopotamia
meaning between the river. mesopotamia is now the location of modern day iraq.
Government: The author says, the king pharaoh was not the only powerful person in egypt and the king/pharaoh was thought to be a living god.

WRITING:
In Ancient china, the chinese would write on a bone from a turtle called an oracle bone. Shang kings would use the writing to talk to their ancestors. The oracle was burned until it was cracked so it could be hardened so it didn't break.(cotterell 11)
TECHNOLOGY: (Cotterell 23) it says the chinese invented gunpowder. Also on page 22 it says they invented the first water - powered blast furnace they also invented the compass. Another thing they invented is the earthquake weather clock. Also In the text it says that some of the worlds greatest invention came from ancient China. I know this because Ancient China emperors encouraged the development of science and technology. (Cotterell 22)

GOVERNMENT: In The text it said ¨ In 221 B.C. The chinese empire was formed. The Qin soldiers defeated the last of their enemies and united with the Warring States under one leader Zhang.¨ (Cottorel 16)
Commerce: ( Cotterell 58) it says they traded silk and rice, spices, teas, porcelain, and lacquerware. Trad gre because the chinese kept travelers safe and merchants knew they wouldn't be attacked because the chinese patrolled the silk road. Also on page 63 there was a deadly trade where they traded a drug called Opium.
Art: In the text it says the China has been known for its art and crafts and luxury goods formed formed major commodities. I know this because the chinese used a manufacturing process being able to mass produce their art but still have amazing looking art. (Cotterell 56)

Location: The text says " The landscape of imperial china was dotted with walled towns and cities." The text also says "These enclosed urban communities were centers of government and the power of authorities was reinforced by town planning." (Cotterell 40)

Ancient India
Writing: From what I know without the text India's writing is called Brahmi. Also a lot of India's symbols are found on ceramic pots. In the text it says,
Some scholars have wondered whether these symbols actually constituted a proper writing system. Fun fact india's language is called Hindi from my research.
Architecture/Technology: One thing that India does for their Architecture is building temples. In the text it says, The advanced architecture and construction techniques of the Indus cities are also shown with impressive dockyards, granaries, warehouses, brick platforms, and protective walls.The walls were probably constructed to protect them as much from floods as from outside attackers.
Government:In the text it say's One Aryan influence on modern - day india was the development of the caste system. It also says a cste is a social group in which people are born and they cannot change. Also people were divided based on wealth and occupation.
Religion: In the text it says, The religion of the ancient Aryans, known as Brahmanism, was polytheistic and heavily influenced the later development of Hinduism. In my own words, the two teachings have a lot of things that are the same.In the text it says, The vedas are mostly religious texts, but they also described famous victories of the aryans as they invaded india.
Location: In the text it says,Around 5,000 years ago, a civilization developed along the indus river alluvial plain. (floodplain), In south Asia, due to the large amount of fertile land and proximity to a water source. Also in the text it says Over time, a vast number of settlements were built on the banks of the Indus river and surrounding areas.
