Mesopotamia
Location
On page six it said that Mesopotamia once extended into parts of present-day Turkey, Syria, and Southwestern Iran. It also said that " most of ancient Mesopotamia lay within the borders of modern Iraq." -(Steele six)
Writing
On page twelve it said Cuneiforms started to be used when city-states and towns formed and the need for them arose, for example to document government records. It also said that Cuneiforms were made from using a stylus, that was made from a cut reed, to make wedge shapes into wet clay. -(Steele 12)
Art
On Page twenty-eight and twenty-nine it said that the Mesopotamians used a potter's wheel to create pottery. Additionally, they produced textiles using looms to weave linen, wool, and cotton into cloth. -(Steele 28, 29)
Government
On page ten it said that each city-state in Mesopotamia had an individual ruler, and each ruler had different titles such as lord, governor, or king. For this reason, this type of government was a monarchy. - (Steele 10)
Religion
On page fourteen it said that the Mesopotamians were polytheistic this meant that they believed in many Gods and Goddesses. The source also said that each city-state had a different patron God or Goddess. - (Steele 14)

On page twenty-four it says ziggurats were the most important piece of architecture back then because it was used as shrines and temples for their deities. It also said that the ziggurats were usually two to seven levels of mud and straw brick. - (Steele 24)

Location
On page eight it said that Ancient Egypt was located on the banks of the Nile River. Furthermore when the river would flood it would bring silt the land which was a great fertilizer for farmers' crops. -(Hart 8)
Writing
On page thirty-four it said the writings of Ancient Egypt were hieroglyphics and hieratic. Additionally it mentioned that hieroglyphics were pictures used as words or phases, hieratic is similar to modern day cursive but in hieroglyphic form. -(Hart 34)
Art
On page fifty-four it said that the Egyptians created linen clothing for all citizens to wear. It also said that the linen was created from flax. Additionally different social levels would wear the clothing styled differently. -(Hart 54)
Government
On page ten it said that Egypt had a pharaoh and his wife as the rulers and leaders of the kingdom. For this reason the government of Egypt is a theocracy. -(Hart 10)
Religion
One page twenty-four it said that the ancient Egyptians were Polytheistic, which means that they believed in multiple Gods and Goddesses. Furthermore each nome had a different deity that they worshipped, however the sun god was worshipped by all. -(Hart 24)
Architecture
On page twenty it said pyramids were a large part of the history of architecture in ancient Egypt. It also said that the pyramids were used as tombs for pharaoh as a transition to their afterlife. -(Hart 20)
Ancient India
Religion
In the text it said that the religion of the Aryans was Brahmanism. The Aryans lived in the Ganas, which was made up of several families. Each gana has its own territory that is ruled by a warrior chief or king. -(World Studies)

In the text it said that the ancient civilizations of India lived along the Indus River. It was an ideal place for living because the land was very fertile. This was because it was an alluvial plain that they used for agriculture. -(World Studies)

From the text it says it is one of the most confusing parts of ancient civilizations. Seals can be found on poles, and ceramic pottery. Because the writing is difficult to decipher scientists know a little about the Indus civilization politics and government. - (World Studies)

On the Website it said that the Indus valley people valued hygiene and the sanitation system. They also had homes that transported waste water to the drains in the streets. The Indus valley people had impressive architecture as well, one of which were walls that were used against floods and invaders. - (World Studies)

Based on the article the government consisted of a Caste system. In this system people were born into their lifelong position in life. The four sections of the Caste were called the Varnas. - (World Studies)

Location
On page 6 the author wrote that the geography of Ancient China included deserts and mountain ranges. This part of China's geography cut off China's culture from India,'s West Asia's, and Europe's culture. The beginning of China's Kingdom began near the Yellow River on fertile land. -(Cotterell 6,10)

On page 11 it said the Shang Kings used Oracle bones to talk with their ancestors. The oracle bones were burnt until they cracked. The questions were written on tortoiseshell or ox bones. -(Cotterell 11)

On Page 22 the author wrote that the emperors of ancient China supported the advancements in technology throughout the years. This technology would be traded on the silk road. These inventions included paper, printing, gunpowder, harnesses, magnetic compasses, fireworks, silk, and much more. -(Cotterell 22)

In the text it said that the main crafts and exports of China were lacquer, porcelain, bronze, jade, and silk. These prized possessions were most of the time mass produced in factories. Not only did artisans create luxury items, but they also made tools for agriculture, and weapons.-(Cotterrell 56)
Government
The author wrote that one of the reasons for China's national stability was their social structure. The system used by the government to control the large population was established by the Han dynasty. The philosophers of these time also played a critical role in the government's stability.-(Cotterell 6)
Trade/Commerce
On page 58 the author wrote that trade thrived during the Yuan or Mongol dynasty. The leaders of this dynasty allowed people to trade freely, which allowed for the caravans and traders to not worry about danger. The most popular items to trade were spices, silk, tea, and porcelain. -(Cotterell 58)
Religion
On Page 12 it said that Confucius observed China's disorder growing after the early years of the Zhou dynasty. So Confucius created a new moral outlook; one of peace, family, and respect. Over time many people followed Confucius' teaching and peace came to China. -(Cotterell 12)
