History Lesson Plan
On the first day of the lesson, we will take students to an heritage site. For example the "Shrine of Rememberence", which is located in the city. Where many australians passed away during the war. Where they will have a tour and be taught on the background of the place and why is it an important place to the locals.
For the next class, the teacher will ask the students to bring in pictures of their heritage sites, depending on their background, where then the teacher discuss about the story behind those sites and use the pictures that the students bought as a visual so the students have an clear understanding.
The students will then receive clay, beads, paint and other resources from the teachers. They are then instructed to create an heritage site from the pictures that they bought to class. They have 2 classes/ periods to finish their art.
After finishing their art they will receive an A2 sized paper where they will state the name of their heritage site and a fact that stood out to them regarding to the heritage that they recreated.
After that activity the students will place their art around their class with their page and then the students will walk around to see each other's art.
In the last class for this lesson, the students will then receive an page, where there is set of questions that is based on heritage sites. They will be assessed to check whether they understood the content of heritage site.
