Public Limited Company
Description - Similar to a Limited company but has its shares on the stock market to be bought and sold. Most large companies fit into this category including Apple, Amazon, Tesla, Nvidia and Meta.

Partnership
Description - A business where two or more individuals share ownership and management of a company. An example of this would be Warner Bros when they were first established.

Sole Trader
Description - A business owned by an individual meaning they are self-employed. There are not very many well known sole traders as they almost always transition into other company types after seeing large profits. An example of this would be the Flat Pack Fixer in Little Plumstead who makes IKEA furniture for people locally.

Public Sector
Description - A government owned or funded entity that provides a service to the public. An example of this would be the NHS.

Limited Company
Description - A business that is a separate legal entity from its owners, offering limited liability protection. For example, John Lewis.
