Safety
The production of the Smart Farm would need to the user/ builder safe when using tools such as; laser cutter, 3D printer and hot glue gun. The Smart Farm should meet Australian safety standards while following OHNS protocol.
Environmental system
Depending on where the Smart Farm is located it would face different conditions. If it was located outside it would have to face the elements such as rain and wind. If it was located inside it was have a reduced risk of being damaged by the elements.
Needs and Requirements
That the smart farm can successfully grow a crop that the user would eat and cultivate in the same soil, while it automatically waters and test the soil for imbalances.
Materials
Acrylic for the walls, it
also acts as insulation.
Hot glue to hold
everything together.
Dirt to grow stuff.
Water to maintain
moisture level.
Function
To maintain the moisture, PH and airflow level. While successfully growing a plant such as a radish. This would be achieved by adding water to the enclosed space and having flaps that open to allow for airflow.
Minimizing cost
Cost can be reduced significantly by finding cheaper option while maintaining the use of reliable materials. Cost can also be reduced by keeping tabs on prices of used materials.
