Types of Abuse
Bullying
Behaviour is repeated, intended to hurt someone - aimed at group (race, gender, sexual orientation)
Physical, teasing, name calling, threats, online

On a child
- emotional maltreatment - severe, persistent effects on emotional development
- worthless, unloved, inadequate
- no opportunity express views, silence them, make fun of them or how communicate

On an adult

Institutional (sexual, physical, neglect)
form of abuse that neglect + poor care practice in institution or care setting (hospital, care home) - isolated incident to continue ill treatment
Rigid routine to suit care home not patient
- Breakfast - 6 am
- Back in room - 7 am
- Lunch - 11 am
- Back in room - 12 pm
- Tea - 5 pm
- Back in room 6pm
Financial
Theft, fraud,exploitation in relation to adult financial affair or arangments
- wills, property, inheritance, financial transcription, possession, benefits
E.G
- take money
- connection with will
- steal jewelry / possessions
Discrimination
Treat person less favourably
Race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, harassment
Sexual
On a child
- Forcing to take part even if child not aware what's happening
- Physical contact - penetration, masterbation, kis, rub, touch
- Non contact - look at, images, watch sexual activity, encourage behave sexually, groom children

On a child
fail to meet basic physical, psychological needs - result in serious implication of child health / development
- E.g.
- not adequet food
- not appropriate clothing
- not protect from physical, emotional harm / danger
- withhold medication, nutrition, heating
