There are inadequate conditions for the students.
In some parts of the world it can take a child three or more hours to walk to school.
Those walks can often lead them through conflict zones or into wild animals that can be dangerous.
Because of hostile conditions there is a lack of teachers because they do not want to be in those environments.
Children exposed to violence are more likely to drop out of school.
Students in a war-zone are more than likely not able to get to school because of these hostile conditions.

Malnourishment can affect a student's cognitive abilities when it comes to learning.
Students are likely to not come to school if they know something important is coming up because they do not feel prepared for the subject because they cannot focus on anything other than their hunger.
There are as many as 151 million children under the age of five that are estimated to be malnourished and not growing properly.
