How can you improve Cardiovascular health?
Body system - uncontrollable factors
Stress levels
Stress varies between occupation and personal situations and is an impacting factor on cardiovascular health
Day to Day life
Activities carried out in day to day life, such as the consumption of unhealthy food, alcohol and/or tobacco
Effects of negative Cardiovascular health: Weight gain, increased Blood pressure, Angina, Stroke, Sedentary
Angina
Angina is most commonly caused by coranry heart disease, and is when the arteries that supply your heart muscle with blood and oxygen are narrowed by a fatty substance called plaque.
Weight Gain
Poor cardiovascular health and weight gain are heavily interconnected, as they are both caused through a build of excess fatty substances
Increased blood pressure
High blood pressure can reduce the quantity of oxygenated bloood that is carried to the heart.
Stroke
Plaque builds up in the arteries and blocks the flow of oxygen-rich blood to the brain, as consequence of coronary artery disease.
Sedentary
In extreme cases, poor cardiovascular health can lead to sedentary in which people are unable to remain standing for extended periods of time and are required to be seated quite often.
Improve health: Exercise, Diet, Meditation, No alcohol/tobacco
Diet
Diet is a risk factor of cardiovascular disease intertwined with several other conditions such as obesity, high blood pressure, and uncontrolled diabetes.
Meditation
Nitric oxide, a chemical that can expand blood vessels and facilitate free blood flow when the heart is pumping, has been demonstrated to increase in your body when you meditate, which may help lower your blood pressure.
Exercise
(Frequency of activity)
Exercise reduces the many of the risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease, such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
Types of Cardiovascular exercise
Swimming
Cycling
Running
No alcohol/ tobacco
Excessive alcohol consumption causes the heart to expand over time, weakening its blood pumping abilities. This increases the risk of heart failure and disease. Smoking temporarily increases heart rate and blood pressure, while also affecting the heart’s ability to contract. Leading to similar risks of excessive alcohol use.
The removal of negative consumption of these products, eliminates the inherit short term health risks.
Time: Measure over a set time, 1 week, a month or 2-3months and higher.
Cardiovascular health
Cardiovascular disease is a group of conditions characterised by the disease of blood vessels and/or heart.
Unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, smoking, and alcohol abuse are all significant factors that contribute to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease.
Heart rate disease can be prevented by; quitting smoking and alcohol, eating healthily and meeting exercise requirements
Cardiovascular health measures the health of the heart and blood vessels. The blood pumped through your heart supplies vital oxygen and nutrients throughout your body, emphasising the importance of cardiovascular health
Monitor CV: HR, Blood pressure, weight, BMI
