The suffragettes were fighting for women's rights to vote and be treated the same respects as men (sexual discrimination).
Even though they didn't make much difference for the women they did achieve better pay rises and women to vote.

Vida Goldstein
Vida Goldstein needed to turn down many thing to make things right for women some things she needed to turn down were many marriage offers, having kids and many more things.
In the end Vida Goldstein didn't convince anyone to change but some years after she died she did make a little difference.
Freedom Ride
The freedom ride began in 1965 when a group of university students of Sydney organised a bus tour of western and costal NSW towns.
They were trying to draw public attention to the poor state of Aboriginal health, education and housing wished to encourage and support Aboriginal people.
The bus visited towns, the students were shocked at the treatment of aboriginal people, they were refused in clubs, swimming pools and cafes
They made sure that they made there trip public so everyone could see the way that Aboriginal people were being treated.

He gathered people at Tenterfield Oration and made a speech about federation that was called boring but it did convince people until years after he died. Even though he didn't convince people until after he died he was the start of Australia being one nation.
Colonies had separate immigration rules and supports felt that a central government could make stricter laws to keep non-white, non-European people out of Australia
