The Development of Australia - Coggle Diagram

- - - - The Moree Pool Incident - The Moree Pool Incident was when a group of Aboriginal peoples weren't allowed to enter a public swimming pool. There were locals defending the pool angrily, they had a strict race-based ban. This means that any other skin colour than white wasn't allowed in the swimming pool.
- - - - Andrew Inglis Clark - Andrew Inglis Clark was a very noticeable person leading up to federation, he was a Victorian politician. He introduced the nation to the American political system as Great Britain and and the United States modelled the Australian Constitution. He also wrote an original copy of the Australian constitution, he draft was alerted and his ideas were later adopted and used in the final copy of the constitution.
      - Fathers of Federation - The Fathers of Federation were men who believed that Australia should form from six colonies to one nation, for the better. They persuaded people and told them why federation was a great idea, and how we'd all benefit from it.
      - John Quick - John Quick was an important person involved in Federation. He voiced all his ideas, and shared his knowledge and inspired many people. He held the Corowa conference which was a gathering of all the people that supported federation. His idea of writing the constitution was to have his party representatives, elected by people. His main idea was to have a constitution by the people, for the people and of the people.
        
        Corowa Conference - The Corowa Conference was held by John Quick when he proposed the idea of creating a new draft copy of the constitution. He believed that the public should have say on what to write and that state representatives should be elected to help write it.
      - Sir Henry Parks - Sir Henry Parks was the premier of New South Whales, he believed that the six separate colonies would be better together as one nation. Although NSW was hit was a huge economic push back, within a few years federation was back a bigger, better and stronger idea. He always thought about what everyone else would benefit from rather then himself. Unfortunately he didn't get to see Australia Federate.
        
        Tenterfield Oration: 1889 CAUSE - The cause of the Tenterfield Oration was to convince people about Federation and why it was a great idea and how majority of people would benefit from it.
        
        Tenterfield Oration: 1889 AFFECT - The affect of the Tenterfield oration was that, Sir Henry Parks speech was so effective that within the following nine months many more speech's were held, yet Federation didn't happen until 11 years later.
        
        Tenterfield Oration - Sir Henry Parks Campaigned for Federation, and to go with that a shared defence force, free trade an a uniform railway system.
      - Sir Alfred Deakin - Sir Alfred Deakin was another very important person during the campaign to Federate the colonies, he was the leader of Victoria, and the second prime minister of Australia holding his position for three times in one decade Deakin was very passionate about democracy. He held many speeches promoting federation and why it was a great idea, also that all of his fellow Victorians problems would be solved. He wanted the opposing party to compromise a reasonable solution.
      - Edmund Barton - Edmund Barton was elected as the first Prime Minster of the commonwealth of Australia. He worked many long hard hours in a elected group to write the constitution for Australia.
- - - - The Stolen Generation - The Stolen Generation was when laws were put in place that children must be removed from their families, typically when they had one Indigenous and one no Indigenous parent. The children were sent to live with a 'white' families or sent to live in institutions, and taught the 'white people' ways of living. They weren't allowed to speak their language or show their culture. Many never saw their parents again.
