In what ways does the essential(ness?) of functionality in my design affect my creative process?
Conflicting evidence: Ive made work that doesn't serve a function other than to be art
Evolved question:
Why do my designs need to be functional/ serve a specific purpose for me to consider it successful?
Why do I find my work that is just serving to be art / open for interpretation unsuccessful?
Confirming evidence: I used to make a lot of art that is hung up in my home, then replaced with new work over time- temporary. Outdated work goes into storage.
Does my art need to be functional to serve a long term purpose?
Why does my success rely on other's evaluation?
Am i trying to help people?
I don't like room for interpretation?
surface level analyzing of art through high school/ college?
I don't like analyzing art that doesn't resonate with me
have i ever experienced a piece of art that was memorable enough to remember/ carry with me?
conflicting: I have views on what makes "good" and "bad" art
i didnt have luxury of fine arts
was poor
money doesnt buy talent
needs to have a function to make the money with it
i don't resonate with fine arts bc you need to be rich to make art like that
no safety blanket from mommy and daddys money
seeing ideas in nature
camping
puddles
guarded, not by me
looking for art to resonate with
looking for people to resonate with

don't resonate bc i view art as a luxury
