Activity
The learners must create a living environment for insects using materials found on the school grounds.
Process of honey
A bee collects nectar and deposits it in its honey stomach. It then gets broken down into sugar and stored inside the honeycomb in the beehive.
Activity
The learners will get into groups of four and will make a small beehive to place somewhere in the school.
A beehive is a closed structure where bees live and make honey. The process of honesy making usually takes around 45 days.

How insects harm us
Many insects carry human diseases such as bacteria, viruses and tapeworms.
Some insects can cause damage to houses and buildings. Fire ants are attracted to electrical fields and can cause power outages and electrical fires.
Activity
The learners need to have a group discussion and come up with one way each that they can prevent themselves getting harmed by an insect. eg. if there is a bee around, remain calm and move away. do not disturb th bee.
Social Science
How insects help us
Insects help pollinate many of our fruits, flowers and vegetables.
Activity
The learners will go outside and observe the insects. They will then discuss one thing they noticed about the insect.
