Citizen Participation - This it is a duty. People's participation is really necessary, this would include, debating issues, voting in elections, attending community meetings, being members, etc.

Elected officials must be chosen by the people in a free and fair manner.
Accepting the Results of Elections
THis makes the results of the election fair because people don't care, if it was fair they'll accept it.

this transparency holds public meetings and allows people to know what happened in those meetings. Everyone is able to get information.

Majority wins, as long as the minor rights are followed
Majority Rule with Minority Rights
Democratic societies make most decisions according to what the majority of the people want.
Equallity
In a democracy all the citizens should be treated equally, same rights, they should have freedom of culture/religion, language, beliefs, etc. In democracies, individuals and groups have political rights to advocate for equal rights.

Independent Judiciary
In the democracy should be fair and impartial. Judges and the judicial branch. Judges should also not be corrupt or obligated to influential individuals

Economic Freedom
Citizens must have economic freedom, for a country to work. The government allows people to make their own bussines, or work for a company to make their own money to buy their goods, etc.
